The Third Software Ontology Workshop

Agenda

As with the previous two workshops, we’ll actually be doing work. we have the following objectives:

  1. Adding software to the sWO;
  2. Using Populous and rightField to annotate software with the SWO and add it to the SWO;
  3. review the SWO to add or change competency questions and update SWO priorities.
  4. Gather more usage scenarios.

RightField and Populous are spreadsheet based tools for adding semantic annotations and then adding axioms to an ontology. The ontology’s terms are added by RightField as menus to an Excel spreadsheet, so you just “choose” the terms you want for your software. Populous can then take those spreadsheets and churn out the axioms and put them into the target ontology -SWO… So, you don’t have to know OWL or Protege.
